Kongeparken | Norway
Kongeparken is a theme park in the town of Ålgård, in the southwest of Norway and opened in 1986. Kongeparken is the largest theme park in the southwest of Norway and the biggest tourist attraction of the region. The park’s main theme is teddy bears and Brumhle – its principal character - has been living in the park since 1997.
The park features over 50 different rides and attractions for the whole and is marketed as a family park for children aged 2-12 and their parents.
Major attractions include two rollercoasters, a flume ride, Norway’s longest bobsleigh as well as interactive attractions such as The Chocolate Factory, where children can make their own chocolate and The Fire Station where children learn to master a fire break out and are educated in fire prevention and safety.
Apart from its summer season, the park also features a Christmas opening from mid-November through mid-December. In 2013 the park hosted over 260,000 visitors.
Kongeparken has received numerous international awards including a IAAPA’s Brass Rang Award, THEA Award and has been rated as both Norway’s and Scandinavia’s best theme park
